Founded in 2013 by Blackstone and a former management team of Iberdrola Renovables, headquartered in Madrid, Spain. The company focuses its investments on the energy transition and sustainability sectors, covering the entire energy value chain with the aim of developing or acquiring assets and companies where it can add value.

Fisterra Energy Team
Fisterra Energy has a small, multidisciplinary team with extensive experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, leading the growth and the internationalization of the companies where they have worked. They also boast different skills, combining capabilities and broad know-how in management, M&A and project financing with technical expertise and management of the development, construction and operation of projects, as well as extensive experience in setting up, developing and managing electricity and gas supply companies trading energy on both physical and financial energy wholesale and retail markets worldwide.
Strategy & Approach
At Fisterra, we are active throughout the entire investment cycle in energy assets, engaging in opportunities across various stages, including greenfield (new development) and brownfield (operational) projects, as well as M&A.
Our strategy is to identify, structure and invest in energy-related opportunities where we can add significant value. We leverage the financial resources of Blackstone, alongside the industrial and financial expertise of the Fisterra team. Once our investments have materialized and reached their potential, we strategically exit to maximize returns.
